There have been numerous photos and paintings of these legendary St. John's homes, built by a man for his four daughters. (Note: For all his good intentions, all four daughters never actually inhabited the homes.)
The large building was constructed on a rather steep road and it can be a challenge to paint it because, though they are joined together in one structure, the perspective for each of the four units is unique to itself because each of the four sections is on a different level corresponding to its place on the hill upon which it is built. 
I thought it would be more interesting to share my interpretation of a less familiar perspective of the building and decided to paint the view from behind.
